About Robert
An experienced practitioner, not a production line
Robert holds a Bachelor of Science in Acupuncture from the University of Salford in the United Kingdom and has practised Traditional Chinese Medicine for seventeen years.
His career began treating patients aboard cruise ships based out of the United States, and continued in Spain, France and Bristol in the United Kingdom before he settled in Portugal. He now practises in Sintra.
Working with people from many different countries and backgrounds has shaped how he treats: carefully, individually, and without assumptions.
What to expect
A first appointment is unhurried. Its purpose is to understand you properly before any needles are used.
-

Robert discusses your reason for attending, your health history, your symptoms and your general wellbeing.
-
TCM assessment
He carries out an appropriate Traditional Chinese Medicine assessment and talks you through the treatment approach he has in mind.
-
Personalised treatment
Acupuncture points are selected for your individual presentation rather than from a fixed protocol.
-
Relaxation
You rest comfortably while the treatment takes place. Most people find this part deeply restful.
-
Follow-up
Robert discusses aftercare and whether further appointments may be appropriate for you.
Women's health
Considered, respectful women's health acupuncture
Women commonly enquire about acupuncture for menstrual discomfort, cycle-related symptoms, stress, sleep and general wellbeing.
Robert's approach here is the same as everywhere else in his practice: listen first, assess properly, and be honest about what acupuncture may and may not offer.
For organisations
Corporate acupuncture
Robert also works with businesses that would like to offer acupuncture as part of an employee wellbeing programme.
Organisations can enquire about a corporate acupuncture trial. Contact Robert to discuss how a workplace acupuncture trial could work for your organisation.
