This policy explains what personal data TEJO ACUPUNCTURE collects through this website, why, and what rights you have over it.
Who is responsible for your data
TEJO ACUPUNCTURE, the acupuncture practice of Robert, based in Sintra, Portugal, is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Contact details for data protection questions are published in the "Contacting us" section below.
What we collect through this website
Only what you give us through the enquiry form, and only what is needed to reply to you:
- Your full name.
- Your email address.
- Your phone number, including the country you selected.
- Your preferred contact method and preferred language.
- The reason for your enquiry, chosen from a list.
- The short description you write of what you would like help with.
- The date and time of your enquiry, and a record that you gave consent.
- Technical information needed to keep the form secure, such as a hidden field used to catch automated spam.
What we ask you not to send
Please do not send detailed medical records, test results or other sensitive health information through the enquiry form. A short description of what you would like help with is enough. Detailed medical information is discussed privately during your consultation and is recorded separately in Robert's clinical notes, which are not part of this website.
Why we use it, and on what legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange an appointment. Legal basis: your consent, and steps taken at your request before entering into a service.
- To keep the website and enquiry form secure. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the service.
We do not use your details for marketing, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to an appointment are deleted within 12 months.
- Abandoned or spam submissions are deleted within 30 days.
- Where you become a patient, clinical records are kept separately from this website for the period required of a healthcare practitioner.
Who else can see it
Your enquiry is read by Robert. Two service providers process data strictly on our instructions in order to make the website work: Netlify, which hosts the website and receives and stores enquiry form submissions before passing them to Robert by email, and Proton, which provides Robert's email. They are bound by contract, and may not use your data for their own purposes.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), at www.cnpd.pt.
Security
The website is served over an encrypted connection. Enquiries are visible only to Robert and to the hosting provider that carries them, submissions are protected by an automated spam check, and photographs published here have their embedded camera data removed. No enquiry is stored on this website itself.
Children
This website is not directed at children, and enquiries about a child should be made by a parent or guardian.

Cookies and similar technologies are described in the Cookie Policy.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be published on this page with a new date below.
